Our Fearless leader, always (or nearly always) on hand to get the evening off to a swinging start. With an extensive range of Lancashire songs and dialect poems, supplemented by an age of song collecting John keeps the evening flowing and is there to see it out with rousing sing-alongs and Skiffle sets. John was a founder member of that manic group 'Distressed Gentle Folk' and now plays with "Penny Black" and "The Wyre Pier Band" he has also played with 'The Elderly Brother' & 'The Fleetwood Mashers'.

Pete, Eileen & Simon wandered into the Falcon one night many years ago and they're still there sat in the corner! Pete started playing Guitar in the late 50's and started working the clubs in the early 60's, he's still there plucking and 'singing' 40+ years on. Pete will have a go at any instrument. Eileen long suffering wife of Pete, Sings, plays Guitar, Bodhran, Penny Whistle and is known to own a set of Northumbrian pipes. Last but not least - Simon (son of Pete & Eileen) plays Guitar, Penny Whistle, Flute and Bodhran and sings harmony and lead (when you twist his arm)
Pete, Eileen & Simon are Clansfolk, Pete & Simon are members of The Wyre Pier Band, Pete is a member of "Penny Black", "Willy and the Poorboys", "Sundance" and a visiting cousin of "The Elderly Brothers", Simon plays as "Wizzy Wig" and was previously with 'Spindrift'.

Kath sings and plays guitar and Anglo Concertina, she has a large repertoire of songs including a collection written by Alan Bell. Ken sings unaccompanied songs (unless someone manages to find the key!) and plays a mean gob iron - famed for his impression of the dying dog in "The Irish Rover" & his rattling bog (no comment).

Steve sings and plays guitar, he's our resident wiz on steel guitar and will come up with a mean break on just about any song you're playing. Steve is also accomplished in the art of playing with a partial capo.

Eileen plays Accordion, Fiddle and is known for her dirges in C or G but occasionally will venture into other keys just to fool us! Always enthusiastic and will jam along with all styles of music (play it in C/G for best results!)
Eileen is a Member of The Festival Ceilidh Band and plays for Singleton Cloggers.

Lynne sings and plays harp, she has an unbelievable vocal range and a beautiful sweet clear voice. Whatever style she sings, whether traditional folk, contemporary, jazz or modern she always commands the attention of an audience. Lynn is a member of The Festival Ceilidh Band, Tallyman and half the duo Camellia.

Norma sings, plays guitar and Banjo, Whether playing with one of the bands or singing with Lynne in Camellia her strong but subtle harmonies add a depth and presence to the songs. Norma is a member of The Festival Ceilidh Band, Tallyman and half the duo Camellia.

Dave has been playing folk music for many years, and has appeared in most clubs and pubs in the area. Mainly playing traditional folk music inter spaced with comical ditties and some contemporary offerings. Dave along with Phil and Kevin play as the Scuttlebugs.

The Scuttlebugs are - Dave (Guitar/Vocals/Harmonica), Phil (Vocals/Mandolin/Banjolin/Tenor Mandola/Bodharan) and Kevin (Fiddle/Guitar). They play a variety of musical styles ranging from traditional Irish and Lancashire songs to jigs and reels from contemporary English and American folk sources to some novelty songs - they are residents at The Half Way House open mic sessions held on a Sunday.

Ian has been around the Folk scene for many years and has played with many groups and as a solo artist, Still working hard to bring music to the masses whether it's Folk, Rock & Roll or Skiffle, Ian's knowledge and repertoire of songs is a like a bottomless pit and he still works without the aid of a Safety net!
Ian is a member of: Willy and the Poorboys, The Elderly Brothers, The Fleetwood Mashers, Sundance & The Wyre Pier Band.

Chris - looking rather serious here - plays guitar, drums, bodhran, and is learning the Bluegrass Banjo at the moment, do I feel a challenge coming on with "Claude Bluegrass" (Pete). Chris is seldom absent from the Falcon

Sadly Fred is no longer with us in body but we intend to leave him on the site as we know he's still with us in spirit -

Dave plays flute, penny whistle and I'm sure I've heard him sing? It often takes some persuasion to get him to play but well worth it when he does. A member of Festival Ceilidh Band.

Rosie plays Guitar, mandolin, Banjo and mouth harp (that I know of), enjoys both contemporary and traditional music and can also use a music stand!

Ian is another regular at the Falcon, he enjoys a sing and can be seen beating on various percussion instruments, Ian also plays the flute but comes into his own when the music turns to Skiffle and he becomes The Washboard Wizard

Sundance are a five piece Rockabilly & Goodtime Music Band. All the members have served their time in the music industry clocking up over 150 years entertaining between them. The members, Dick, Pete, Ian, Barrie & Mike (left to right in the photo) can be seen regularly at the Falcon playing in both their own right, either solo or with other line-ups and together on occasions as Sundance.
