In your Dreams - The Kitchen Girls
I must admit when the above C.D. arrived for review the three of us couldn't wait to get it on the CD player - having seen and heard the Kitchen Girls live at Fylde Folk Festival we were looking forward to hearing more and we weren't disappointed! A well produced CD with toe tapping music and good vocals. The Kitchen girls - "it's a womans thing and an American folk/music/string thing" - As most people who know me will tell you I love Bluegrass, Cajun, jazz, Irish and Goodtime music and this C.D. fell into all of those categories plus a few more. |

Fishermen of Fleetwood - Phil Brooks
Not a new release (© 1994) but a CD that would enhance any collection and of great local interest. |

MULESKINNER BLUES (RCA CAPO 501) The 50's, Rock & Roll and Skiffle the music that pointed me towards Folk - We still sing a lot of skiffle and people love it. The name that stood out was Lonnie Donegan and now he's back after 20ish years with a 'new' recording. This is a great new release with some old songs and some new and Van Morrison featuring on two of the tracks. If you,ve heard him before you'll want this recording, if Lonnie Donegan is a new name to you have a listen and see what its all about. |
