Over the years Fylde Folk Festival has expanded, with more and more locations around Fleetwood becoming involved in the staging of Festival concerts and singarounds. The following list is of the locations that have been used, photo and a rough guide on how to find your way to them. Not all of the locations are in use every year - so check the programme and plan your route around the Festival.

The Marine Hall

This is the first place to find, collect your ticket and then you're ready for a week-end of the best folk entertainment around. The Marine hall is used for many events, it also houses a Cafe/Bar (children welcome), Information areas, Toilets, Penny Dreadful Magazine/Office & Public Bar (entrance restricted to over 18 year olds). The weekend starts here.

Marine Gardens

Just outside of the Marine Hall (surprise, surprise!) are the beautiful Marine Gardens, an ideal location for the outside events whether dance, groups or children's events (for all ages). When there are no events being staged there, it makes a quiet place to meet friends, sit & chat or just sun bathe (weather permitting!)

Fleetwood Leisure Centre

The Leisure Centre complex stands just across the car park from the Marine Hall, here you'll find the swimming pool & Shower facilities. The main hall entertains the Craft Fair (Sat & Sun), where you'll find some of the major Musical Instrument makers and dealers, individual makers of craft products, a huge range of CDs, Records & Tapes plus lots more. The car park is free and there are toilets situated next to the car park.

The Mount Hotel

Just across the road from the Marine Hall (and off to your right) you'll see The Mount Hotel. Its a great meeting place, and has a range of meals at very reasonable prices. Events are held in various rooms and there's always something going on whether organised or impromptu.

The Steamer Hotel

The Steamer Hotel is found just opposite the Ferry Terminal and events are held here in both the lounge bar area and the upstairs rooms, throughout the festival. Meals and sandwiches are available at a reasonable price and they serve an assortment of traditional hand pumped and guest beers. The Steamer is also the home of Fleetwood Folk Club, held every Thursday. Disabled access to the toilets is available.

Jollies Bar, The Pier

As you leave the Marine Hall turn left and head along the Esplanade, Jollies bar is just a short walk and is located on the pier (so there's plenty for the kids to do!). Jollies is used for many events during the festival including those "Rock" sessions.

The New Victoria Hotel

The oldest pub in Fleetwood, dating back to 1836

The North Euston Hotel

The North Euston is not only a very historical building in the history of Fleetwood but also in the history of Fleetwood Folk Music, having held regular folk evenings in the early 70's and later becoming the home to Fleetwood Folk Club and now as one of the major venues for the Festival. This majestic building is not easily missed and can be located by turning left out of the Marine Hall, walking along the Esplanade, past the pier and just a little further along (on the right) you'll see the Euston. Several bars and rooms are in use during the festival.

The Market Tavern

As it's name implies the Market Tavern is situated next to Fleetwood's Famous Market, (well worth a visit whilst you are in Fleetwood). Situated on Adelaide St - which runs between Lord Street and Dock Street.

The British Legion Club

Situated near the tram tracks at the south end of Fleetwood, and a few minutes walk from Freeport, the British Legion club houses events in an upstairs concert hall. Throughout the year this is the home of the local C&W club - and is reflected in the decor. There are two bar areas one down stairs and one up, there is also an area where artists can sell & autograph their promotional items.

The Mount Methodist Hall

Just the other side of The Mount gardens, and a couple of minutes walk from the Mount Hotel (you can see it from the side door on Promenade Road), is the Mount Methodist Hall, amongst other events you can see or enter the Tallyman Competition here, aimed at encouraging young people to perform, the winner is invited to be the opening guest artist at the final concert (a great honour). Several previous winners have continued with their music and have become world recognised artist. This type of event is one of the best ways to introduce young people to the art of entertaining and enjoying folk music building a sound foundation for the future.

Harlequinns

Harlequins can be found just off the main road in Fleetwood's town centre. There is a large concert room upstairs, where events are held throughout the festival. There is also a bar situated in the concert room.

Fleetwood Gymnasium

From the Marine hall turn left on to The Esplanade then first right on to Mount Road, take the second street on your left (Victoria Street), then second left again will take you on to Rhyl Street and Fleetwood Gym is just on your left. total distance from The Marine Hall about 520 yards. Fleetwood Bowling Club

Just across the road from The North Euston Hotel, Fleetwood bowling club is easily found - if you get lost look for the lighthouse!

United Reform Church Hall

Turn right on to the Esplanade from the Marine hall, and travel about 820 yards along the Esplanade, on your left you'll see Dronsfield Road turn on to Dronsfield Road and 273 yards up on your left you'll see the United Reform Church Hall at the junction with Shakespeare Road.

Fleetwood Museum

The place to see local history, from both on land and at sea, recently refurbished and enlarged, well worth a visit when in Fleetwood, and of course is used during the Festival for several events.

The Sea Cadet's Base

Situated at the roundabout on Laidleys Walk/Beach Road/Princess Way and just opposite the Festival Camp Site is the Sea Cadets Base. Inside there is a large hall which will be used during the festival for various events - find it by turning right out of the Marine Hall, travel about 1600 yds along the front you'll see The Sea Cadet's Base in front of you.

The Log Cabin Cafe

Located next to the Festival Campsite, you'll find the Log Cabin Cafe. It's been there since the early 30's (maybe even longer!) and has served many festival goers with good food and drink (and ice creams). During the festival they'll be open from 7.30am so there's no excuse for not getting a good breakfast to start the day off proper, whether it's Full English, Continental or Vegetarian. Sandwiches are also available to take away so you can enjoy the festival without getting hunger pangs. Great food and always a happy welcome to festival goers (plus everyone else of course) so pop-in and have a bite to eat, a drink or an ice cream.

New Venture & Over 60s Hall

Just off Lord Street in the town centre, you'll find Warren Street (the Prince Arthur Hotel is on the corner) with the Prince Arthur on your left turn left on to Warren Street and the New Venture & Over 60's Hall is about 130 yards up on your right.

The Mount & Mount Gift Shop

Facing the Marine Hall and the at the "centre" of Fleetwood, you'll find the Mount Gardens and the mount with its gift shop at the top. When Fleetwood was designed, all the roads were made to radiate from the mount so this is a good place to keep in mind and as you can see from the map most of the venues can be reached quicker by taking the roads that radiate from the Mount.

The Jacinta

A restored stern trawler, that used to work out of Fleetwood. It is open to the public (small admission charge) and is moored at the marina in Freeport Village. Local fund raising has helped it to be restored and open to the public. Look out for Festival Events at the Marina and Jacinta. Located at The Marina, Freeport Village, off Anchorage Way, Fleetwood.


Marsh Mill Square

Beautifully restored Marsh Mill in Wyre, dating from 1794, offers a unique introduction to the Milling of a bygone age. Marsh Mill overlooks the Craft Village where you'll find an assortment of shops (including Music World), Cafe and a Pub.
