Mad Pudding is a refreshing and spirited Vancouver-based group that merges traditional and contemporary styles; old-time, celtic and funk combined with a quirky sense of humour to create the Mad Pudding sound.


Maggie Holland

Until 1983, Maggie Holland's name was known as a group member; singer and multi-instrumentalist first with the duo Hot Vultures who toured constantly around the club and college circuits in Britain and Europe from the mid 70's and later the barrier-breaking English Country Blues Band. Now she is pursuing her solo work.


Maggie Boyle

Maggie Boyle now living in Yorkshire, is a Londoner of Irish Parents. She sang live on stage for the Rambert Dance Company's "Sergeant Early's Dream". Critics said, "..... I must mention Maggie Boyle, whose hauntingly beautiful voice is not easily forgotten and whose rendition did far more than just enhance the dancing or provide a story line for it". She was the Title vocalist on the film " Patriot Games" and session vocalist on "Legend of the Falls" and also done live and film work with The Chieftains, John Renbourn, Bert Jansch - the list goes on....

Mally Dow

Born into a traditional singing family in Blackpool. Mally is a prolific poet with many publications over the years, in Lancashire Life, various Women's magazines and broadcasts of her own poetry on Radio Four and Radio Lancashire. Mally only performs her own poetry and she has helped to get poetry established at folk clubs and festival, throughout England and Wales.


Manley Morris Dancers

Manley base their dancing on the Royton tradition and in fact the dance passed directly from Royton to Manley, having been passed to them by a former member of the old Royton team. Manley Morris Dancers are a fine representation of the North West Tradition.


Marie Little

Most seasoned folk fans already know of Marie Little's musical talent. A native of Salford now living in the North East of England. Marie has been around the folk scene for years and has appeared at folk clubs and festivals all over the UK and Europe. She is a respected figure in the folk scene and has several recordings as well as TV and Radio appearances.


Marilyn Middleton Pollock

Marilyn was born in Chicago and worked all over the U.S.A. before moving to Scotland in 1985. Since then she has worked in clubs and festivals throughout Britain and Europe, and made numerous television and radio appearances. With a background that embraces folk, rock & roll, jaz and blues, Marilyn's repertoire includes comtemporary folk songs vaudeville blues.


Mark T.

Mark T. comes from Hereford. He sings and plays bouzouki, guitar, marimba and bodhran and generated a lot of media excitement through his blend of original songs, British traditional, blues, jazz and world ethnic forms. Mark started by playing Irish music mainly around the South East of England and Brittany.


Martin Carthy

Born 21st May 1940, Hatfield, Hertfordshire, England. Martin Carthy began his career as an actor, but in 1959 became a skiffle guitarist and singer with the Thameside Four. Over the years he has worked with many of the top artists and groups but essentially, though, Martin is at his best as a soloist or in Partnership with Dave Swarbrick.

Martin Whittell

Martin Whittell became interested in folk music in the '60s, developing a keen interest in traditional music and song. After a strong commitment and active period in the local East Anglian folk scene involvement became more sporadic in the mid '70s until he moved to Salford in 1984.


Martiny's Magic

Martiny's Magic performs all kinds of magical acts, from mini illusions, comical puppets, their real doves and rabbits to baloon modelling, clowning, face painting and mini disco - something for everyone of all ages.

Martyn Harvey's ability to make a ceilidh come alive and be enjoyed by everyone there is second to none. His enthusiasm is infectious and his seemingly endless repertoire of dances ensures that everyone is catered for.


Martyn Wyndham-Read

Martyn Wyndham-Read is a fine exponent of Australian folk song and was one of the main forces behind the 60's revival. Eric Bogle has said of him "Martyn is gifted with a strong expressive voice an extremely effective guitar style". He is one of the select band of performers who let the music do all the talking.

Matt Armour

During 1996 Matt started to go Blind and not being able to drive he was unable to continue his solo work, now having had a lens replacement he has been able to continue once again. Although resident in the South Midlands he was born and raised in the fishing towns of the East Neuk of Fife Scotland. His career took him to Paris busking with Alex Campbell and his song writing started after a bet with Ewan MacColl.


Maxie and Mitch

Musical comedy duo Maxie and Mitch have now been performing their hilarious comedy antics for ten years. Their brand of humour is timeless, in the style of the 'Big Clown' and the 'Little Guy Makes Good', loved by young and old alike and demands nothing more than to have a good laugh with them. While they are both superb singers, and Mitch an excellent guitarist, it is the totally original humour that captures the imagination.


Medicine Hat

Riding on a concoction of traditional Irish, Celtic rock and Cajun-stomping, Medicine Hat add a new vibrant punch to the Folk Music scene. Their enthusiasm and sheer enjoyment of music comes through in their highly entertaining performances.


Melanie Harrold and Ollie Blanchflower

Melanie and Olly started working together in the late eighties and quickly established themselves as two of the top quality performers on the acoustic and festival circuit. Both Melanie and Ollie have a long background in entertainment business.

Mick Peat

As a musician Mick plays guitar and melodeon, specialising in traditional folk music, and sings with the highly acclaimed Midlands band "Rogues Gallery". He is also an experienced country dance caller, directing and teaching dances from the 16th century onwards.


Mike Allen

Over the years since he taught himself to play Irish traditional fiddle, Mike Allen has been a mainstay of the local music scene. A versatile multi-instrumentalist and a valued member of several bands. A Friend of the Falcon.

Mrs Ackroyd Band

Mrs Ackroyd Band are: Alison Younger, renowned for her fine voice, as well as her skill on the bombarde, a small Breton instrument of torture. Hilary Spencer, a temporary escapee from Artisan, has a truly gargantuan voice, more powerful than anything in the world except for Alison's bombarde. Chris Harvey is the musical brains behind the band's insanity. Les Barker is totally unmusical and completely insane in a quiet sort of way. Mucky Mountain Morris

Formed in 1989 the side is named after the industrial landscape of St. Helens. They are a mixed side, dancing Border and Cotswold traditions. They wear maroon and green rosettes with black breeches and white shirts.
